Somersworth Man Arrested on Drug Charges

Portsmouth Police supplied the following arrest information.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Sunday, Oct. 14 through Wednesday, Oct. 17.

Sunday:

  • At 8:36 a.m., police reported criminal mischief to a building on Market Street after the caller said a window was smashed.
  • At 9:42 a.m., police reported a theft on Edgewood Road after the caller said $1,000 worth of items were taken from his vehicle.
  • At 12:10 p.m., police reported a theft on McKinley Road after the caller said a set of golf clubs valued at more than $1,000 were stolen from his vehicle.
  • At 3:41 p.m., police reported a theft on Freedom Circle of a Bluetooth earpiece, three pairs of sunglasses and $4 in change.

At 1:50 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man wanted as a fugitive from justice on Lafayette Road and Greenleaf Avenue. Jordan M. Barnaby, 30, of 118 Ledgewood Drive, Apt. 8, in Portsmouth was wanted on a bench warrant.

  • At 10:08 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man for motor vehicle offenses on Route 33  and the I-95 northbound ramp. Jake Batchelder, 18, of Portsmouth was charged with driving after revocation or suspension.
  • At 2:19 p.m., police arrested a Dover man on drug charges on Parrott Avenue who was wanted as a fugitive from justice. Timothy Scott Pettis, 23, of 30 Chapel St., Apt 1 in Dover was wanted for two counts of possession of controlled narcotic drugs and for possession of drugs in a motor vehicle.
  • At 6:25 p.m., police reported a burglary at Beechstone Apartments after the caller said a door was smashed in and a camera and laptop computer were taken. The residence was also trashed.

Wednesday:

  • At 10:24 a.m., police arrested a Lee man on Hanover Street. John Patrick Laughlin, 46, of 58 Lee Hill Road in Lee was charged with criminal threatening and disorderly conduct.
  • At 3:05 p.m., police arrested a Somersworth man on drug charges after he was detained by the Strafford County Sheriff's Department in Dover. Christopher Grant, 27, of 316 Sherwood Glen in Somersworth was charged with two counts of sale of controlled narcotic drugs.
