City Stabbing Suspect Says Husband Tried to Stab Her First
During 911 call, Dianne Walker told Portsmouth Police she acted in self-defense.

A city woman charged with stabbing her husband during a heated argument early Tuesday morning told police that he tried to stab her first.
told a Portsmouth Police dispatcher during a 911 call at 1:28 a.m. that she had "a nut ball" in her house. According to the Portsmouth Police log, the police dispatcher heard a female crying in the background and an adult male who repeatedly told Walker to shut up.
At one point, the police dispatcher noted the adult male who Walker stabbed several times said, "you silly bitch."

After police and Portsmouth firefighters arrived, Walker told them the man she identified as her husband tried to stab her first before she stabbed him several times in the back. Walker also told police that she thought she might have killed him.
According to the police log, Walker was downstairs when police officers and firefighters arrived and the male victim was upstairs. Police also noted the male victim had some small cuts and was intoxicated before he was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital by a Portsmouth Fire Rescue ambulance.

Walker was charged with two counts of first degree assault and later released on $10,000 personal recognizance and $500 cash bail. She is scheduled to be arraigned in the Portsmouth Circuit Court on March 4.
