Storm Could Drop a Foot of Snow on Portsmouth
The snow is expected to start falling on Thursday night and could drop more than 12 inches before it's through.

A significant snowstorm could hit the Portsmouth area on Friday.
Right now, estimates vary widely as to how much snow we're going to get. Some forecasters are predicting as little as 3 inches, while others are saying we could see nearly 2 feet.
According to the National Weather Service, the snow is expected to start early Thursday morning and continue through Friday night before it tapers off on Saturday afternoon. The National Weather Service is predicting the snow will be heavy at times and there will be wind gusts up to 38 mph on Friday. Currently, the National Weather Service does not having any warnings or advisories in effect for New Hampshire.

February is notorious for big storms, according to the Weather Channel. New England just marked the 35th anniversary of the Blizzard of '78, which was one of the worst snow storms in recent memory. So far, we've seen slightly more snow in New Hampshire than last year, but well below an average year.
