Teens Caught Using Drugs in Car

The following information was provided by Portsmouth Police. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Friday, Nov. 8 to Sunday, Nov. 10.

Friday:

  • At 6:33 a.m., police pursued some juveniles who were smoking in the woods near Portsmouth High School on Andrew Jarvis Drive.
  • At 11:15 a.m., police reported a theft of some books on Broad Street.
  • At 7:44 p.m., police reported a theft of a speaker case on Lafayette Road that was committed by a man riding on a bicycle who was heading towards Crossroads.
  • At 8:05 p.m., police took a 15-year-old juvenile into protective custody after they responded to arson on Highland Street where Portsmouth firefighters were putting out a car fire.
  • At 8:45 p.m., police caught four teens inside a parking car on Sagamore Avenue who had committed a drug offense. One of the four juveniles involved was cited for a narcotics violation. All four teens were taken into protective custody.
  • At 9:27 p.m., police reported disorderly conduct on Penhallow and Daniel streets after the caller said a male subject approached him and threatened to kill him before walking toward the Memorial Bridge.
  • At 11:46 p.m., police reported another disorderly conduct on State Street after the caller said a male subject was yelling and hitting cars and tried to pick a fight with the call who was on his bike.
Saturday:
  • At 2:32 p.m., police reported a simple assault at Portsmouth High School that resulted in one subject being trespassed from the school.
  • At 4:35 p.m., police reported a theft at a Woodbury Avenue business after the staff said a male subject had repacked $1,400 worth of items inside the store.
  • At 6:33 p.m., police arrested a Dover man at Portsmouth Regional Hospital on Borthwick Avenue following a disorderly conduct complaint. Sherridan B. Folger, 38, of 46 Adelle Drive was charged with resisting arrest or detention.
  • At 10:13 p.m., police reported an animal call on Commerce Way after a Dover woman said her 5-month-old Dachshund dog may have jumped out the window after she saw the dog was no longer on its leash.
Sunday:
  • At 1:34 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Union Street after the caller said someone threw a brick through his living room window.
