Portsmouth High Students Charged with Selling Drugs to Classmates

Portsmouth Police seized drugs and drug paraphernalia at a Portsmouth apartment.

Portsmouth Police arrested two Portsmouth High School students on Monday night who they say were selling multiple drugs to other students at the high school.

Portsmouth Deputy Police Chief Corey MacDonald said the two juveniles, ages 15 and 16, were arrested after police executed a search warrant.

MacDonald said methamphetamines, heroin, ketamine, bath salts, hashish, marijuana, Adderall and other prescription medications were seized. He said the two juveniles live with their mother at the apartment, but she was not charged.

In addition to drugs, MacDonald said police seized hypodermic needles, scales, hundreds of drug baggies and other packaging material, numerous cell phones, and laptops. He said knives and "some unique weaponry" were also seized.

"The investigation continues into the extent of the distribution network. Viable information exists that some of the drugs were received from international locations, and a parallel investigation has begun into money laundering of the alleged profits. Portsmouth Police Detectives are working with Federal law enforcement partners on this continuing investigation," wrote MacDonald in the police press release.
