To really get a good idea of just how powerful a storm Hurricane Sandy, a.k.a. Frankenstorm, really is, one needs to go to the coast to experience it firsthand. Against the best public safety advice I received from Portsmouth Fire officials and others, I ventured out to see if I could withstand Sandy's 60-plus mph winds and capture some video footage for the folks at home. Much like those beleaguered reports on the Weather Channel and other TV news outlets, I soon realized I wasn't going to last very long at Odiorne Point.
