- New Hampshire National Guard reschedules deployment ceremony for the NH Army National Guard's 237th Military Police Company to Sunday, Feb. 10, at the Southern New Hampshire University field house, 2500 River Road, Manchester, at 2 p.m.
10 a.m.
- Portsmouth officials announce on city's website that the Portsmouth Public Library and the city's recreational facilities will close on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and be closed all day on Saturday because of winter storm Nemo.

- Market Basket Supermarket on Woodbury Avenue is jammed with Portsmouth area residents who are buying groceries, batteries, ice melt and other winter storm supplies to get ready for Nemo.
2:25 p.m.
- Artist Reception at The Mark Wentworth Home has been rescheduled to Feb. 23 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., according to Daniele Cyr of Darci Creative, LLC, in Portsmouth.
2:40 p.m.
- The Portsmouth Historic Houses Association 2013 "Life and Death in the Piscataqua Region" symposium has been rescheduled to March 9 at St. John's Masonic Hall from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

- Portsmouth Public Works Department issues advance warning for a possible snow emergency ahead of winter storm Nemo.

Friday, Feb. 8:
10:41 a.m.
- The Memorial Bridge Shuttle Service between Portsmouth and Kittery, Maine will shut down at 12 noon on Friday.
11:15 a.m.
- Portsmouth Public Works Department declares a snow emergency parking ban that will go into effect on Friday at 7 p.m. and the downtown geographical area on Saturday at 1 a.m.
1:15 p.m.
- Public Works crews begin snow removal operations in downtown Portsmouth and elsewhere in the city.
3 p.m.
- River House restaurant to close and let employees go home early. Other restaurants on Bow and Ceres streets already closed.
Saturday, Feb. 9:
7:00 a.m
- According to the latest National Weather Service forecast, the Portsmouth area could see another 8 inches of snow after receiving 13- to 19 inches of snow overnight. There will also be high winds that could cause widespread power outages and some coastal flooding. The blizzard warning remains in effect until 4 p.m. on Saturday.
8:00 a.m.
- As of this morning, Public Service of New Hampshire is not reporting any power outages in the city or the surrounding Portsmouth area.
11:10 a.m.
- Some coastal flooding has occurred in the Hampton Beach area after high tide occurred at 10 a.m., but so far no flooding has been reported in Portsmouth.
2:30 p.m.
- Blizzard of 2013 winds down, allowing city residents to start digging out.
4:30 p.m.
- Portsmouth firefighters respond to a burst water pipe inside the Marshalls department store on Woodbury Avenue that emegency communications reported was causing some damage.
Sunday, Feb. 10:
8 a.m.
- Portsmouth Public Works Department terminates the snow emergency, which allows parking on downtown streets again as snow removal operations continue. But the city agency also calls for a Sunday night downtown parking ban that will go into effect at 8 p.m. and at 12 midnight so additional snow removal can be conducted.
