WINDHAM, NH — Sales are now underway for the Project Blackout 2022 T-shirt sale.

Sales will run through Aug. 7 and are the organization’s primary fundraising drive. The effort is part of the town’s annual push to raise awareness about pediatric cancer and show support for those who have been affected by it.

During Windham Blackout Cancer Week, which runs from Sept. 17, to Sept. 24, school athletes, business leaders, and others will work to raise awareness about cancer. The annual Windham High School Jaguar Blackout Cancer football game will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23.

Erica Camilo DiNitto, the board president of Project Blackout, said the community had joined together for more than a decade to promote the effort.

“The Blackout T-shirts have become much more than just a shirt or a ticket to a football game,” she said. “They are a powerful symbol of our community spirit and support for our local children and families who have had to endure all that comes with a cancer diagnosis. Our goal is to one day have every single person in Windham wearing a Blackout T-shirt to show our unity and support.”

Proceeds from the sales, online donations, and townwide activities will be given to the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth and Windham Helping Hands Pediatric Cancer Fund to help Windham children and families currently battling cancer, DiNitto said.

All T-shirt orders must be picked up at WHS between 3 and 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19.
