River Run Welcomes Windham's Murphy As Chief Banking Officer, Executive Vice President

NEWBURYPORT, MA — River Run Bancorp, MHC, the mutual holding company for Newburyport Bank and Pentucket Bank, is proud to announce the appointment of Karen Murphy as chief banking officer and executive vice president.

With more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Karen brings deep expertise and a proven track record of leadership. In this executive role, Karen will oversee the strategy, performance, and growth of several key banking divisions, including Residential and Consumer Lending, Retail Banking, Business Banking, Treasury Management, Operations & Customer Service, and Marketing. Based at the NB Main Office in Newburyport, she will play a vital role in advancing River Run’s mission to deliver exceptional service and innovative banking solutions to its customers and communities.

Murphy holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Providence College. She lives in Windham with her husband and their children. Deeply engaged in her community, she serves as president of the Windham High School Booster Club and volunteers with the Champions Basketball program, which offers inclusive sports opportunities for children with physical and learning disabilities—a cause she and her family have supported for the past eight years.
