Windham Welcomes More Than 500 To Second Annual Pride Festival

The festival was organized to support the local LGBTQ community and provide an accepting space for all to celebrate.

Press release from Windham Citizens for DEI:

More than 500 attended Windham’s second annual Pride Festival on Sunday. Hosted by Windham Citizens for Diversity, Equity + Inclusion (DEI), the festival was organized to support the local LGBTQ community and provide an accepting space for all to celebrate. The event was held at Windham High School and featured an afternoon of family-friendly activities including live music, food trucks, activities, games, and a raffle.

“Our goal was to make this year’s pride bigger and even more inclusive than last year’s, and we’re truly overwhelmed with the community response,” said Jackey Bennett, co-chair of Windham Citizens for DEI. “It’s a reminder that Pride events are just as important in smaller communities as in big cities, and we want to express our sincerest gratitude to the volunteers, presenters, Windham High School students, and close to 60 local businesses who all made this joyful event happen.”
