Check Your Account: ANCHOR Payment Deposits Start Hitting In NJ
The state anticipates about 2 million homeowners and renters will get a benefit this year, with payments ranging between $450 and $1,750.
NEW JERSEY — Some New Jersey residents are kicking off the weekend with an ANCHOR property tax benefit in their bank accounts, as the first round of payments has arrived.
Patch was browsing social media, and saw some users on the New Jersey Reddit say they got direct deposits on Thursday and Friday. Others said they have checked their benefit status online, and saw that the payment will arrive on or before Oct. 15 (which is Tuesday). One of our Patch staffers has received theirs, as well.
The state anticipates about 2 million homeowners and renters will get a benefit this year, with payments ranging between $450 and $1,750. Close to 1.5 million people were automatically enrolled for this year's program, and many of these people are the residents who are part of this first round of payments.

This is the third year for the ANCHOR program (Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters). This year's program is based on tax information for Fiscal Year 2021.
The deadline for new applications is Nov. 30, and you can look up your benefit status here after applying. The website allows people to see if their application is in processing, and the date the state issued a benefit. It will also tell residents if the state doesn't have a record of processing their application.
New Jerseyans who are first-time applicants, who did not receive an ANCHOR benefit confirmation letter or application mailer, and those who are looking for their ANCHOR ID and PIN will have to go through some new security measures this year as part of the state's efforts to combat application fraud.
For more information about the program, go to anchor.nj.gov. Applicants may also call the ANCHOR hotline at (609) 826-4282 or 1-888-238-1233, get in-person assistance at a Regional Information Center, or stop by one of the in-person ANCHOR help events scheduled around the state.
