More Storms Could Flood NJ Wednesday: See Latest Forecast

Wednesday will see a repeat of the day prior with possible flash flooding from severe thunderstorms, according to the forecast.

Wednesday will be a "rinse and repeat kind of day" for the Garden State as more storms prepare to slam the area, according to the National Weather Service.

The greatest threat from these storms is flash flooding. A Flood Watch has been issued from 5 p.m. through 2 a.m. in Hunterdon, Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, Mercer, Salem, Gloucester, Camden, Burlington, Ocean, Cumberland, Atlantic and Cape May counties.

"Another round of showers and thunderstorms are expected late this afternoon and into tonight which could produce heavy rain," National Weather Service forecasters said. "With an already saturated surface, it will not take much rainfall to result in flooding. Rainfall rates of around 2 to 3 inches per hour are possible."

Storms will kick off around 5 p.m. While the threat of severity will decrease as the evening goes on, the flash flooding risk will persist through the evening at least, forecasters say.

It will also be another muggy, humid day, though cloud cover will keep temperatures slightly lower than Tuesday.
