Heavy Storms To Bring Serious Flash Flood Risk To NJ Monday
Showers and thunderstorms Monday are likely to cause flash flooding across New Jersey, according to the latest forecast.
Flash flooding is likely in much of New Jersey Monday as more showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast, according to the National Weather Service.
A Flood Watch is issued in Camden, Gloucester, northwestern Burlington, Sussex, Salem, western Monmouth, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset, Warren and Morris counties from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Forecasters predict that localized rainfall could reach 3 to 5 inches in just an hour or two.
"Numerous flash floods can be anticipated across portions of the region due to scattered thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall," the National Weather Service said. See below map for specifics.

"A few isolated severe thunderstorms with damaging winds are possible, but the main threat will be flash flooding of urbanized and poor drainage areas, small streams, and creeks," the National Weather Service said.
Until the storms roll in, Monday will be another hot and humid day, forecasters say.

And unfortunately, this pattern will continue through the week. The National Weather Service says there's chances of showers and thunderstorms each day. With this, even more flash flooding will be possible.
Not only will Thursday and Friday be the hottest and most humid days of the week, the National Weather Service warns that the risk for severe thunderstorms will be greatest on these days as well.
"Long story short, the active stormy pattern will continue through Friday," the National Weather Service said.
