See What Memorial Day Weekend Weather Will Be Like In NJ

NEW JERSEY — This week has been rainy and gloomy, but there's good news on the horizon: things will be clearing up and warming in time for Memorial Day, according to the latest forecast.

Lingering showers will clear up by the end of the day Friday and conditions will continue to improve through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

While it should stay dry, it will be gusty Saturday and breezy Sunday, forecasters said. It will also get progressively sunnier, with Monday being mostly sunny.

Temperatures will only reach the low 70s, unusually cool for this time of year.

"For those of you heading to the Jersey Shore and the Delaware Beaches, even with surf temperatures in the upper 50s, you will experience similar temperatures compared to inland locales given an offshore wind," the National Weather Service said.

Beachgoers should also be aware that life-threatening rip currents could be possible.

On Monday, temperatures will top out at the low-to-mid 70s all over, though the beaches may be cooler if there is a sea breeze, according to the National Weather Service.
