Storms Move Into NJ This Weekend: See Latest Updates, Timing

The biggest threat with this weekend's storms is damaging wind, according to the latest forecast.

NEW JERSEY — Storms will start to move into New Jersey Friday evening, setting up the state for a wet, windy weekend, according to the latest forecast.

Friday should be mostly dry, National Weather Service forecasters said, but the northwestern corner of the state could see some showers and scattered thunderstorms starting this afternoon. There could be damaging winds and heavy rain could cause localized flooding.

Scattered thunderstorms move across the entire Garden State Saturday afternoon, forecasters say. They will be accompanied by lower temperatures than what we've seen Thursday and Friday.

Storms won't move offshore until later in the evening, AccuWeather forecasters said.

AccuWeather meteorologists said that dry weather won't last long, as another round of showers and thunderstorms will move in Sunday afternoon.

The first half of next week will also be wet, according to the National Weather Service.

North Jersey
