Asbury Park Installs Mobile Disinfection System Amid Coronavirus
The Asbury Park Fire Department has purchased a new AeroClave RDS 3110 mobile disinfection system.
ASBURY PARK – In response to the new coronavirus, the Asbury Park Fire Department has purchased a new AeroClave RDS 3110 mobile disinfection system to help protect against the disease.
The portable fogging system, which costs approximately $16,000, disinfects on contact by using Vital Oxide in an enclosed area and can disinfect an ambulance in approximately 30 minutes, according to a city press release.
“Our first responder firefighter/EMTs are on the front lines daily and equipment like the AeroClave is critical in ensuring their safety and the safety of our patients,” said Fire Chief Kevin Keddy. “We are able to disinfect our ambulance, as well as medical and firefighting equipment, after potential exposure to COVID-19 and prevent cross-contamination with the next patient that is transported.
