Anvita Is Helping Basking Ridge One Tree At A Time: Star Student

We all know students who excel in academics, fine arts, or volunteer service. Here's one local who is making an impact in Basking Ridge.

(Pooja Krishna)

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Pooja Krishna who nominated Anvita, 17, of Basking Ridge.

How do you know the star local student?

As her Mentor & Customer, and via Community interactions.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Anvita is a founder at Trees for Me, a non-profit initiative that aims at inspiring sustainability, one - or many - trees at a time. She and the team not only work to plant trees at community locations and homes, but also inspire members of the local community to embrace eco-friendly initiatives. They also have done fund-raising and 'planting days' at multiple venues, and invited others, especially little kids, to join in and learn about the impact on the neighborhood as well as the environment.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Anvita is highly passionate about sustainability, and has inspired many others with her multi-talented personality, as a blogger, musician, photographer and more!

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Anvita!
