Environmental Education Center Accepting Registration for April River Rats

April River Rats is a science and nature learning adventure for children ages 5 to 8 years old.

The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center, 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge, is taking registration for the April River Rates program for children ages 5 to 8 years old.

The science and nature learning program will have children join a naturalist for a weekend of hiking, observing, interacting with live animals, creating crafts and exploring the Great Swamp, according to the Somerset County Park Commission. River Rats will continue each month, focusing on a new and different theme each time.

The program will meet on Saturdays, April 4, 11, 18 and 25, from 10:30 a.m. until noon.

Fee for the four-session program is $36 per child and registration and payment can be made online at the Somerset County Park Commission’s website, in person at the Environmental Education Center, via mail or via telephone (if using credit card).

Enrollment for the River Rats program is a first come, first served basis.
