‘The God Box’ Coming To Basking Ridge Theater In February
For a one-night performance in February, the author of the New York Times bestseller book that inspired the play will be in Basking Ridge.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ - Calling all Basking Ridge-area theater buffs: “The God Box: A Daughter’s Story” will be making its local debut at the Sieminski Theater next month.
For a one-night performance in February, Mary Lou Quinlan, author of the New York Times bestseller book that inspired the play, will be performing in the emotional story of a woman coming to terms with the death of her mother. The play follows the protagonist’s discovery of her mother’s “God Boxes,” containing hundreds of private petitions on torn pages and Post-its.
The show has been performed at over 100 venues around the U.S., as well as at three Ireland tours and at the 2014 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it earned five stars, according to a press release. The God Box Project has raised over $600,000 for hospice, cancer and educational charities over the last eight years.

The performance will take place on Feb. 11 at 3:30 p.m., hosted by Fellowship Foundation benefiting the Sieminski Theater Fund. Tickets start at $40, including the performance and a book signing reception at 4:45 p.m. The $70 tier prier also includes a pre-show tea reception at 2 p.m.
