Ridge Hockey Announces Inaugural Dave Hansen Memorial Scholarship Recipient

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Ridge Hockey is proud to announce Spencer Jiang as the inaugural recipient of the Dave Hansen Memorial Scholarship, a new annual award established to honor the legacy of longtime coach and mentor Dave Hansen.

Coach Hansen, who died in 2023, was a pillar of the Ridge Hockey community for more than two decades. Known for his tireless commitment to youth development, strong leadership, and passion for the game, he left an indelible impact on players, families, and the broader hockey community in Somerset County and beyond.

The scholarship, awarded to a graduating senior from the Ridge Hockey program, recognizes a student-athlete who best exemplifies Coach Hansen’s values—leadership, sportsmanship, dedication, and a love for the game.

A standout both academically and athletically, Spencer has demonstrated consistent excellence and humility throughout his time with Ridge Hockey. His selection as the first-ever recipient marks a meaningful milestone for the program and the Hansen family.

The Dave Hansen Memorial Scholarship will be awarded annually to deserving Ridge Hockey seniors in recognition of their contributions to the team and community.
