26-Year-Old Killed In Fiery NJ Turnpike Crash: Police

The incident occurred at a toll plaza along the turnpike, police said.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — A 26-year-old Summit man died in a weekend crash along the New Jersey Turnpike, according to state police.

The man was traveling west in a Toyota pickup truck shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday when the vehicle he was driving hit a toll plaza abutment and overturned at the Interchange 16W exit in East Rutherford, police said.

The truck became engulfed in flames and the driver suffered fatal injuries, according to police. The crash is under investigation, police said.
