Belleville’s Mayelin Rios Honored by Kean
University Bestows Presidential Excellence Award for Distinguished Service to Senior Clerk Typist.

Belleville’s Mayelin Rios, a senior clerk typist for Kean University’s Office of the Dean of the College of Business and Public Management, has been honored by the university with the Presidential Excellence Award for Distinguished Service, the school announced recently.
Kean President Dr. Dawood Farahi bestowed the awards on 14 university employees, during a reception on May 11, in recognition of their exceptional contributions in teaching, service and scholarship.
In 2002, Rios began working as a clerk typist in the Department of Management and Marketing. Last year, Rios joined the dean’s office.
“To say that Mayelin helps us flourish as a college is an understatement,” said Dr. Katheryn Martell, dean of the College of Business and Public Management. “She provides amazing leadership and works hard every day to ensure the success of the faculty, staff and students of the office, the college and entire university.”
