2 Family-Friendly Halloween Events Planned In Bloomfield

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Get ready for a “Spooktacular” Halloween, Bloomfield.

The Bloomfield Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Department recently announced that it will be offering a pair of free, “fun, family-friendly” Halloween events for residents during the month of October.

Here’s what to expect, according to a township social media post.

Halloween Spooktacular on the Historic Town Green

• When: Saturday, October 22 from 4 to 7 p.m.
• What: “Our Annual Halloween Spooktacular is designed for your toddler or elementary school aged child (with parental supervisor). They will have the opportunity to trick or treat, pick their own mini pumpkin in our pumpkin patch, participate in a costume contest and take photos. There will be a children’s magic show and to close out this great event, a showing of Charles Schulz’s - It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown at Dusk.”

Haunted Pumpkin Patch

• When: Saturday, October 29 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
• What: “Come take a stroll through our spooky jack-o-lantern pumpkin patch on the grounds of the Oakeside Cultural Center – 240 Belleville Ave. The event is FREE for spectators and the carving contest is open to adults and children 10 and up. All artists will receive a free pumpkin and candle. (1 per family. Families can submit up to 3 separately purchased pumpkins.) Sign-up deadline is Friday, October 14. Pumpkins can be picked up on or after Wednesday, October 19 for carving. To register for your free pumpkin, please visit www.bloomfieldrecreation.org.”
