2 Robberies Reported At Bloomfield Businesses: Police

BPD: Two men pushed a woman down and robbed her outside a pharmacy. A man bit a beauty supply store worker on the arm.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Two robberies took place at businesses in Bloomfield over the past week, authorities reported Thursday.

The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about each incident:

July 23 – Officers responded to 331 Broad Street (CVS) after getting a report about a robbery. A local resident was exiting CVS when two men got out of a vehicle and pushed her to the ground. The men then grabbed the victim's purse from her shoulder and fled the scene. This incident is under investigation, police said.

July 25 – Officers responded to 131 Bloomfield Avenue (Sally’s Beauty Supply) after getting a report about a robbery. According to a store employee, a man and a woman entered the store and wandered the aisles for an extended period of time. The worker allegedly saw the pair conceal multiple beauty items on their persons. As employees attempted to lock the front doors, the woman fled, but the man remained in the store. The man then bit the complainant on the arm, pushed another employee and fled the scene. This incident is under investigation, police said.
