Arrest Made In Burglary Of Popular Bloomfield Pizza Restaurant: Police
A Hunterdon County resident was charged with burglary, Bloomfield police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police arrested a New Jersey man in connection with a burglary that took place at a local restaurant earlier this month, authorities announced.
Police previously released the following details about a burglary at Blue Steel Pizza, which happened on Nov. 10:
“Officers responded to 285 Glenwood Avenue (Blue Steel Pizza) after getting a report about a burglary. The complainant said that he noticed the alarm sounding upon entering the business. Upon further inspection, he found that a window was open. Surveillance video footage shows a male wearing a black mask, gray winter hat, black zip up sweater, blue jeans, black winter gloves and black/white sneakers enter the business through the window.”
On Wednesday, Bloomfield police announced that an arrest has been made in the case. Marcelo DaSilva, 45, of Lebanon, has been charged with burglary, authorities said.

The restaurant – a local favorite that made a list of the “Top 100 Places to Eat in New Jersey in 2022” – has seen other break-ins this year, with three incidents reported in April. The suspect took more than $2,800 in cash from registers and several expensive liquor bottles, police said.
