Bloomfield Gelato Shop Offers Flavors Inspired By Asia: Heritage Month
The owners of APEM Creamery are releasing a cornucopia of treats as a nod to Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Mango Lassi. Silk Road. These are some of the flavors that will be available at a Bloomfield gelato shop during its “Asia Week.”
The owners of APEM Creamery are releasing a cornucopia of treats as a nod to Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. They’ll be available from Thursday to Sunday at 870 Broad Street in Bloomfield.
APEM Creamery owners Alex Saneski and Jennifer Ko both have Asian heritage; Saneski is part Filipino, and Ko has roots in Taiwan and Japan. As a nod to their backgrounds, they'll be featuring a cornucopia of flavors inspired by different parts of the continent. They include:

- Vietnamese Iced Coffee - A gelato version of the strong, decadent coffee drink
- Silk Road – A saffron rice pudding base, crushed pistachios and candied strawberries
- Mango Lassi - With buttermilk and lime for a light and refreshing treat
Gelato and sorbets are available by the cup and pint, and can be pre-ordered online for pickup. Hours are Thursday and Friday from 2 to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 8 p.m.
