No students have become infected as a result of contact with the staff member, a Bloomfield school official said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Some students at Oak View Elementary School in Bloomfield were recently asked to quarantine after a teacher tested positive for the coronavirus, officials said Thursday.
Administrators in the district were told Sunday night that the staff member tested positive for COVID-19, a spokesperson told Patch.
As far as administrators know, no students or staff have become infected as a result of contact with them, and it’s an “isolated” incident, he said.

In late August, Bloomfield district officials gave an update on coronavirus safety precautions and policies for the 2021-2022 school year.
Some highlights include:
- "Schools will be open for a full day of instruction, including lunch."
- "Before and aftercare will be offered at our buildings through the YMCA."
- "Masks will be required indoors only, per Governor [Phil] Murphy’s Executive Order 251 for as long as they remain a mandate."
“All other protocols, such as mask exemptions, parental screening, exposure quarantining, contact tracing, handwashing and cleaning methodologies, will be similar to how we ended last school year,” administrators said.
