Bloomfield High School Senior Josh Gillooly will be competing with The Cadets2 in the Drum Corp Associates World Championships at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland from Aug. 31 through Sept. 1.
Cadets2 is a top ranked drum and bugle corps based in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Corps members range in age from 14-25, and will be presenting “The Music of Les Miserables.”
Drum and bugle corps are similar to marching bands, but use only brass and percussion instruments. Although they started from a military tradition, modern corps present a wider variety of music and visuals.

Even though this is Josh’s first year with Cadets2, he is no stranger to drum corps having been a member of Hillside School’s drum corps while in 3-5 grade in Montclair.
After participating in several rounds of auditions, Josh was offered a position in the percussion section playing cymbals. This fall he will also march center (lead) snare for the Bloomfield High School Marching Band.
