Burglaries Reported At Bloomfield Restaurant, Apartment: Police

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A pair of burglaries took place in Bloomfield last week, including one at a local restaurant, authorities announced Thursday.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to Chopsticks House on Bloomfield Avenue on Aug. 4 after getting a report about a burglary.

The owner told police they arrived at work to find the rear door pried open, and $600 missing from the cash register.

Police said surveillance video footage shows a white vehicle pull up in front of the business around 1 a.m. A person can be seen getting out of the car and entering the rear of the establishment.

COLUMBUS STREET BURGLARY

Another burglary took place on Aug. 6, this time at an apartment on Columbus Street, police said.

The victim told police that three juvenile males wearing masks over their faces entered the upstairs apartment through an open back door. The apartment is vacant and being renovated, they said.

A contractor left tools in the apartment, but it isn’t currently known if any are missing, police said.
