Cheerios Puts Bloomfield Grocery Store Workers’ Faces On Cereal Boxes
A team of employees at the Brookdale ShopRite recently earned a unique honor: their faces on a box of Cheerios.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — An annual tradition continued for 2024 at a grocery store in Bloomfield when a team of employees earned a unique honor: their faces on a box of Cheerios.
The Brookdale ShopRite unveiled a special-edition Cheerios box featuring the winners of the annual ShopRite Partners In Caring Cheerios Contest, a friendly inter-store competition sponsored in partnership with General Mills.
The yearly effort recognizes employees for supporting regional food banks and fighting hunger in their home communities. The Brookdale ShopRite raised more than $11,000 for area food banks this year.

In total, ShopRite workers managed to raise $1.5 million for regional food banks in several states this year.
In addition to bragging rights, each winning store will also receive prize money ($5,000 for the top five stores, and $2,500 for the remaining winning stores), which will be donated to local food pantries chosen by the respective store teams.

The Brookdale ShopRite chose to make a donation to the Human Needs Food Pantry of Montclair, which serves people in the two towns – and several others in Essex County. The InterFaith Food Pantry of the Oranges was also a recipient of $2,500 from Brookdale ShopRite as a result of this year's Partners in Caring campaign.
