Gas Price Dips Below $3 In Essex County, Online Tracker Shows (Here's Where)

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — How much does gasoline cost in Essex County? As of Thursday, drivers can fuel up for less than $3 per gallon at several local gas stations, according to an online price tracker.

GasBuddy, the crowd-sourced tracker of discount prices, recently released its annual Labor Day forecast, predicting that prices will reach the lowest they’ve been in five years. Read More: Major Shift In NJ Gas Prices Expected For Labor Day Weekend

Gas was selling below three bucks at several local stations in Essex County, according to GasBuddy. Some locations with prices under $3 (cash price) include:

• $2.74 at Gas Diesel on Rt. 21 in Newark
• $2.76 at Importech, 250 Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell
• $2.79 at US Gas on Rt. 46 in Fairfield
• $2.87 at Fuel 4 on Rt. 21 in Newark
• $2.89 at Delta, 694 Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair
• $2.89 at Delta, 202 Pompton Avenue in Verona
• $2.89 at Power Gas, 205 Sanford Street in East Orange
• $2.91 at Short Hills Fuel, 46 Chatham Road in Short Hills
• $2.93 at Sinclair, 625 Livingston Avenue in Livingston
• $2.95 at Wawa, 11 South Franklin Avenue in Belleville
• $2.95 at Delta, 73 South Essex Avenue in Orange
• $2.97 at Delta, 754 Lyons Avenue in Irvington
• $2.99 at Exxon, 101 Bloomfield Avenue in Verona

The average cost of a gallon of gas in New Jersey was $3.03 as of Thursday afternoon. The lowest price was $2.71, which was reported at gas stations in Freehold (Eagle), Fords (Fuel 4) and Ewing (BP).
