Here's Who Won Bloomfield School Board, Council, Mayor Races: 2025 Election Results Certified
Jenny Mundell defeated Joan Hussey in the Bloomfield mayor race. Here are the final vote tallies for school board and town council.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The race is finally over, Bloomfield.
The dust has settled from the 2025 elections, and several candidates have captured victory in the Bloomfield races for mayor, town council and board of education.
With 100 percent of districts reported and the results certified on Wednesday, here are the final tallies, according to the Essex County Clerk's Office:

MAYOR
Incumbent Bloomfield mayor Jenny Mundell ran as a Democrat against independent challenger Joan Hussey. No Republican candidate filed to run. The term lasts for three years.

Mundell has claimed victory and Hussey has conceded defeat. Here are the official results from the Essex County Clerk’s Office:
- Jenny Mundell – 12,663 votes (80.36%)
- Joan Hussey – 3,095 votes (19.64%)
TOWN COUNCIL AT-LARGE
There were three at-large seats on the Bloomfield Town Council available. The candidates included independent challenger Jonathan Mejia and three Democrats: Tracy Toler-Phillips, Monica Charris Tabares, and Jill Fischman. No Republican candidate filed to run. Terms last for three years.
Toler-Phillips, Charris Tabares and Fischman have captured seats on the council. Here are the official results from the Essex County Clerk’s Office:
- Tracy Toler-Phillips – 12,146 votes (29.96%)
- Monica Charris Tabares – 13,027 votes (32.13%)
- Jill Fischman – 12,552 votes (30.96%)
- Jonathan Mejia – 2,822 votes (6.96%)
TOWN COUNCIL FIRST WARD
An unexpired, one-year council term in the 1st Ward was available. Rosalee Gonzalez ran unopposed. No Republican candidate filed to run.
BOARD OF EDUCATION
There were seven candidates competing for three open seats on the Bloomfield Board of Education. Terms last for three years. The candidates were Deanna Wilson, Kerri Joyce, Jelani Jeffrey, Andrew Lomonte, Quan R. Miller, Thomas Heaney, and Benjamin Morse.
Wilson, Lomonte and Joyce have captured seats on the board. Here are the official results from the Essex County Clerk’s Office:
- Deanna Wilson – 6,050 votes (18.45%)
- Kerri Joyce – 5,334 votes (16.27%)
- Jelani Jeffrey – 4,277 votes (13.04%)
- Andrew Lomonte – 5,571 votes (16.99%)
- Quan R. Miller – 4,717 votes (14.39%)
- Thomas Heaney – 4,266 votes (13.01%)
- Benjamin Morse – 2,575 votes (7.85%)
