• $1M Powerball Lottery Ticket Sold In Bloomfield: See The Lucky Numbers (patch.com) — Bloomfield residents have a new local millionaire in their midst after a $1 million Powerball ticket was sold at Krauser’s Food & Liquor on Broad Street. The ticket matched all five white balls in the Dec. 10 drawing, and New Jersey Lottery officials say several other Garden State players also picked up smaller prizes.
   

• Bloomfield HS bowling teams put up solid efforts to start the season (essexnewsdaily.com) — Bloomfield High School’s boys and girls bowling teams are off to a strong start, with the boys sweeping Montclair and splitting a tight opener against Nutley while the girls rebounded to sweep Nutley. Coach Phil Rapavi expects the boys to contend for a league title and sees emerging leadership from standout bowlers Taylor Murray and Caterina DiGiano on the girls side.
