‱ Bloomfield Parts Ways With Firefighter After Racial Bias Lawsuit Involving Noose (patch.com) — Bloomfield’s mayor says the firefighter accused of giving a Black colleague a noose and facing bias intimidation charges is no longer employed by the township, following the conclusion of administrative proceedings. The case, which sparked a $25 million federal lawsuit and vocal support for firefighter Patrick Thomas from civil rights groups and state officials, has prompted Bloomfield leaders to stress zero tolerance for racism and outline new anti-discrimination efforts in town departments.
   

‱ $22M contract advances Meadowlands–Jersey City transitway (njbiz.com) — Bloomfield is one of eight towns that could eventually gain a new dedicated transit lane as NJ Transit advances design work on the Secaucus–Meadowlands Transitway and explores tying it into the Essex-Hudson Greenway. The $22 million Phase 2 contract focuses on connecting Secaucus Junction and Jersey City, with an eye toward zero-emission, potentially autonomous vehicles and better access to Meadowlands attractions.
   

‱ Shaw, Ferlanti lead Fair Lawn past River Dell - Boys ice hockey recap (nj.com subscription) — A regional high school hockey co-op that includes Bloomfield faced off in the NJSIAA North Public Co-Op sectional at Montclair State, where Nutley-Columbia-Bloomfield players battled Fair Lawn-Bergenfield-Dumont. In regular-season play, Fair Lawn then topped River Dell 4–1 behind two goals each from Dylan Ferlanti and Gavin Shaw at MacKay Ice Arena in Englewood.
