The Afro Brazilian Cultural Center at 554 Bloomfield Ave. hosts the Neo_SoulZ Spoken Word & Therapeutic Poetry Open Mic on Friday at 8 p.m.
Bloomfield’s knitting group holds its weekly meeting at the library at 11 a.m. Organizers say there’s no teacher, just friendly crafters and suggest interested parties wander in anytime after it starts with their own projects and enjoy.
With summer hours in place, the Bloomfield Public Library is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Throughout August, the Bloomfield Health Department is reaching out to students returning to college with to offer vaccinations for a nominal fee. Call 973-680-4058 to set up an appointment or for more information.
Bloomfield's United Way is selling raffle tickets for their annual 50/50. They are looking to sell 200 tickets at $100 a shot. The drawing will be held halftime at the Bloomfield High School homecoming game on Saturday, Oct. 26.
