Too Hot For School: 3 Half-Days In Bloomfield Amid Heat Wave
Students in Bloomfield will get a partial break from classes this week. Thermometers are expected to jump across New Jersey.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — With thermometers expected to rise across New Jersey this week, students in Bloomfield will see an early dismissal from class from Wednesday to Friday.
A heat advisory will be in effect for much of the Garden State, with maximum “feels like” temperatures expected to reach up to 105 degrees in some areas, forecasters said. In Bloomfield, all schools will operate on a half-day schedule from Wednesday, Sept. 6 to Friday, Sept. 8. Aftercare programs will be available on all three days for families that chose to participate prior to the start of the school year; parents should send their child with a packed lunch in that case, administrators said.
