ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A young wrestler from the North Jersey area recently captured a state championship, marking a new milestone in her sports career.

For the past four years, Savannah Green, 8, has been honing her skills in Jiu-Jitsu at Momentum BJJ in Nutley. Her dedication and natural ability have led her to recent success on the wrestling mat as well. For the past two years, she’s been a member of both the Bloomfield Recreation Center and the Fighting Irish Wrestling Club in Lyndhurst.

Last weekend, Green added a new feather in her cap when she won the New Jersey State Championship title in the 8U 65lb weight bracket.
