Community Invited to Celebrate Caldwell University's 75th Anniversary and Homecoming Weekend
Homecoming weekend is September 18 to 20, and the public is invited to attend a number of events, several of which are free.

On Saturday, Sept. 20, a Homecoming Carnival and Barbecue will be held on the Newman Plaza from noon to 4 p.m. Festivities will include game booths, face painting, pumpkin decorating, a teddy bear clinic, street performers, performances by student bands and organizations, a drum circle and more. Food will be available for purchase.
A 75th anniversary photography and print exhibit of materials related to the founding of Caldwell College for Women will be displayed in the Jennings Library on campus. The exhibit is co-sponsored by the university’s library, the Caldwell Public Library, the Sisters of St. Dominic Motherhouse archives and the New Jersey Catholic Heritage Commission.

At 1:30 p.m., the Veritas Lecture series will feature the presentation “A Conversation with the Sisters of St. Dominic-Veritas in the World Today.”
The women’s and men’s soccer teams will face Dominican College. Game time for the women is noon and for the men, 2 p.m.
A Faculty Favorites concert will be held at 6 p.m. in the Alumni Theatre and is open to the public. This debut of the 2014-15 Concert Series will feature performances by university faculty and recent alumni. General admission is $20; tickets are $15 for seniors and students and $10 for alumni and friends. Caldwell University students can attend free.
The public is also invited to a free lecture at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, with Father Paul Murray, O.P., a member of the Irish Dominican Province and professor of spiritual theology at the Angelicum in Rome. Father will present on his recent book, “Scars: Essays, Poems and Meditations on Affliction.” He is president of the Spirituality Institute, serves as spiritual director at the Convitto Internazionale San Tommaso, a pontifical college for young diocesan priests from all over the world, and has published several works. A book signing will follow his presentation in the lobby of the Alumni Theatre.
