CHATHAM, NJ — Jeffrey Fricke's tenure as Chatham Borough's volunteer fire chief will officially come to an end at Monday night's borough council meeting.

The borough council intends to pass a resolution honoring Fricke's duration as the borough's fire chief for the last four years.

Fricke has been a member of the Chatham Fire Department since his appointment more than two decades ago. He quickly rose through the ranks of the department, serving as a lieutenant from 2007 to 2010, as a captain in 2011, as the 3rd Deputy Chief from 2013 to 2014 and as Deputy Chief from 2015 to 2018.

The council chose Peter Glogolich as the next serving fire chief during the borough's reorganization meeting in early January. Glogolich previously served as fire chief from 2002 to 2014 and was succeeded by Doug Allan and, later, Fricke.

Glogolich is the first fire chief to ever serve in the position twice.
