Double Shooting Kills Man, Critically Wounds Another In Camden

One victim was on the ground, while the other was in a nearby home, authorities said.

CAMDEN, NJ — A shooting killed a man and critically injured another Wednesday night in Camden, authorities said.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. on the 300 block of Morse Street. At the scene, police found Jose Hiraldo-Peralta suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the ground.

A second shooting victim was found in a nearby house, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

Both men were driven to Cooper University Hospital.

Hiraldo-Peralta, 32, of Camden, was pronounced dead at around 11:05 p.m. Wednesday.

The second victim — a 28-year-old Camden resident — was in critical-but-stable condition as of Thursday afternoon.

The investigation remains active, and no arrests have been made as of 2 p.m. Friday, a spokesperson for the prosecutor's office told Patch.
