COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — A beloved bakery in Camden County will shutter this weekend — just after closing its other location. DiBartolo Bakery had been in business for more than 50 years.

While the business was founded in 1969, DiBartolo Bakery moved to Collingswood in 1990. The bakery opened a second location in Haddonfield in late 2020.

DiBartolo Bakery announced the closure of the Haddonfield shop in March. But the business said it would stay open in Collingswood, expanding the bakery's hours.

But the bakery announced Wednesday that its lone-remaining store would close its doors Saturday, while fulfilling all existing orders until May 31.

"It has been sweet!" the business said on social media. "Thank you to our loyal customers for allowing us to be a part of your special gatherings and celebrations for more than 50 years. All good things must come to an end."

Benjamin DiBartolo began the family-run business in Pennsauken in 1969. DiBartolo remained within the family for several generations. Master cake decorator Al DiBartolo Jr. — part of the third generation in the industry — became known for over-the-top cakes featured on Food Network's "Holiday Wars" and TLC's "Next Great Baker."

The bakery became part of the Genesis Hospitality Group in June 2020, maintaining the DiBartolo family's recipe.
