Collingswood High School Wrestling Team Earns Top Seed In Playoffs

The Panthers host Oakcrest in the opening round of the playoffs on Monday, according to nj.com.

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — The road to the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 championship goes through Collingswood.

The Panthers are the No. 1 seed in the playoffs, and open the tournament at home against No. 8 Oakcrest on Monday, Feb. 6, 7 p.m.

The winner faces the winner of the match between No. 4 West Deptford and No. 5 Cinnaminson in the semifinals on Feb. 8. The championship match is Friday, Feb. 10, and the State Group Championships are Feb. 12 at Pine Belt Arena.

Brackets become official on Wednesday.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Collingswood was 18-3, with wins over Group 3 playoff team Highland and Group 5 playoff team Cherokee, according to nj.com. Collingswood’s biggest test is still to come on Thursday night, when it visits still unbeaten Paulsboro, 6:30 p.m.

Oakcrest is 11-5, according to nj.com. Despite its record, it is seeded behind West Deptford (9-11) and seventh-seeded Sterling (11-10).
