Camden Co. Man With 45K Child Porn Files Gets Sentenced

Robert Giles, 73, faced up to 20 years in prison.

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — A Collingswood man who had more than 45,000 files of child pornography in his home was sentenced to federal prison.

Robert Giles, 73, was sentenced to 2 years, 9 months behind bars Wednesday in federal court. He also must pay $186,500 in fines and undergo a decade of supervised released.

Giles faced up to 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000 after pleading guilty last July to one count of possession of child pornography.

In April 2022, FBI agents served a search warrant at Giles's home. A forensic examination of his electronic devices revealed more than 45,000 files containing videos and images of children getting sexually abused, officials said.
