Collingswood Man Charged In Camden Fatal Shooting
A Collingswood man who has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting in Camden has been arrested in Virginia, authorities said.
COLLINGSWOOD, NJ β A Collingswood man who has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting in Camden has been arrested in Virginia, authorities announced on Thursday.
Michael Allen, 19, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (Norfolk, VA) Thursday at a residence in Newport News, Virginia, according to authorities.
On Oct. 29, Allen was charged with first-degree murder in the death of 28-year-old Lamont Demby, of Camden, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

Demby was fatally shot in the area of Jackson Street and Warsaw Street in Camden at about 3:21 p.m. on Oct. 22, according to authorities. He was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at 4:11 p.m.
Allen is currently being held in Virginia and is awaiting extradition to New Jersey.
