Collingswood Man Killed In NY Crash; SUV Swerved Into His Car: Police
The collision sent both vehicles off the roadway and overturned an SUV, authorities said.

MARATHON, NY — A Collingswood man died last week from a crash in which a driver swerved into his lane and sent both vehicles off the New York State roadway, authorities said.
Timothy B. Willson, 71, was killed in the Central New York collision, officials said.
New York State Police responded to the crash at about 1:10 p.m. Aug. 15 on Interstate 81 in Marathon, Cortland County. Two vehicles were on the grass beside the roadway, including an SUV turned onto its side.

A preliminary investigation indicated that a Honda SUV was traveling north on Interstate 81, police said. The driver encountered traffic from construction and swerved from the right lane to avoid stopped vehicles, according to law enforcement.
The Honda struck a Toyota, driven by Willson, in the left lane, police said. Both vehicles went off the roadway, and the Honda overturned.

Willson died in the crash, police said. His passenger — a 70-year-old New Jersey woman — was brought to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Honda driver — a 26-year-old Bronx resident — was teated at the scene.
Police continue to investigate the crash.
