Collingswood police say they were not directly involved in Tuesday's law-enforcement activity. But the department issued a statement to address concerns about the FBI's presence on a residential street.
"This operation was part of an ongoing FBI investigation related to a significant financial fraud case," the department said. "Unfortunately, one of our neighbors is believed to have been the victim of a scam involving a substantial financial loss."
Local police said other partner federal agencies were in the area but didn't mention any by name.
