Early-Morning Fire Closes Aquarium In Camden
No injuries were reported, and no Adventure Aquarium animals were harmed.
CAMDEN, NJ — Adventure Aquarium, one of South Jersey's biggest attractions, has temporarily closed after a small fire broke out early Wednesday.
The fire was in a construction zone inside the building in Camden, an Adventure Aquarium spokesperson told Patch.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which broke out just before 4 a.m., when the aquarium was closed.

There were no injuries, and all aquarium animals are safe.
Adventure Aquarium stayed closed on Wednesday because of the fire. The aquarium expects to reopen soon, but a reopening date hasn't been announced as of this writing.

"We are working quickly to ensure the building is ready to welcome guests again as soon as possible," said Jeff Leinen, an Adventure Aquarium spokesperson.
The extent of the damage wasn't immediately clear.
There was no immediate word on what caused the blaze. Patch contacted fire officials with questions and will update with any response.
Anyone with Adventure Aquarium tickets for Wednesday can reschedule their visit by calling guest services at 844-474-3474. The tickets will be honored any operating day through March 26, 2026.
Located along the Camden Waterfront, Adventure Aquarium is home to more than 15,000 aquatic animals.
