New Sports Card Store To Host MLB Slugger At Charity Event In Collingswood
Those who donate a new toy at The Card Capital can meet Joey Loperfido, a South Jersey native on the Blue Jays.
COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — A major leaguer with local roots will visit a new sports card store in Collingswood for a charitable cause.
The Card Capital will host Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Joey Loperfido next month. Fans can attend the exclusive event by donating a toy at the store in the coming days.
Loperfido grew up in Haddonfield and attended Haddonfield Memorial High School. He made his major league debut this year with the Astros before getting traded to the Blue Jays in July.

Any fan who donates a new, unwrapped toy at the store between now and Dec. 20 will receive a ticket to access The Card Capital's event with Loperfido.
The event is at 5 p.m. Jan. 4.

"I am thrilled to be partnering with The Card Capital to bring holiday cheer to children in my hometown and beyond," Loperfido said in a statement. "Growing up in South Jersey, it means so much to me to make an impact to local kids who really need our help."
Attendees will be able to exchange tickets for an eligible pack of cards and participate in a "pack battle" with Loperfido. Winners of the battles with receive Loperfido's signed, game-used memorabilia.
All toys will be donated to churches and charities in the Collingswood and Haddonfield areas.
It won't be the first time that The Card Capital hosts a professional athlete. NBA veteran P.J. Tucker attended the store's grand opening in September, along with Fanatics founder Michael Rubin.
