Newton Creek Needs a Cleanup: Letter to the Editor

We have always walked our dog around Newton Creek and loved it. In the past few weeks, we have been noticing more trash.

We have also notice a lot of dead fish. One walk I counted 22 good-sized fish (a guess is maybe all the salt runoff into the creek).

Nevertheless I think the creek could use a good cleanup. Sometimes on a walk I will bring a trash bag, and have even done the trash-bag walk on vacations. This is a habit I learned from my parents.

How do we go about [organizing] a cleanup day? I'm sure a lot of people in our great town would love to help out.
