Three from Women's Club Spelling Bee Advance to Regionals
Elementary school students Dion Chen, Camille Chomiczewski and Catherine Abacan will take their shot at a statewide berth in the regional spelling bee Feb. 24.
From a field of 12, three expert fourth- and fifth-grade spellers from advanced to the regional competition of the Junior Women's Club annual spelling bee.
Dion Chen and Catherine Abacan of Mark Newbie School placed first and second, respectively, and Camille Chomiczewski of Good Shepherd Regional Catholic School took third. The bee was held Jan. 9 at the Collingswood Public Library.
Chen, Abacan, and Chomiczewski will compete in the Regional Spelling Bee, to be held at the Haddon Fortnightly on Feb. 24. The top three from that contest will go on to the Junior Women’s State Spelling Bee, to be held in New Brunswick.
